Hi, my name is Brian Weiner. My married woman Claudia and I own As You Like It Alpacas. (a large alpaca ranch in Ventura County, California)
Three years ago, once
my wife, (who was teaching High School at the time), came to me and recommended we visit an alpaca farm, I have to admit that I laughed.
I keep her in her pursuit of her dreams, as she does for mine... so I labelled
along.... besides I love animals and caressing zoos with the kids, so how bad could a trip to an alpaca ranch be?
They were cute and cuddly, but at day's end.... what was the attraction...I actually didn't get it.
So my married woman closes the sale by sharing that I could finish paying financial gain
tax to state and the feds because of the great tax laws encompassing stock businesses (not hobbies... only businesses).
Now she had my attention.
With more research and a dubious initial speech with my CPA, I was quickly learning that I could pay
my mortgage expenses and my financial gain
by putt a business onto my house property and raising these charming animals.
Once
we started As You Like It Alpacas (yes, she instructed English!), we were really cautious, so we leveraged $15,000 to purchase $60,000 in animals and pay them off over 3 years at 8% simple interest carried by the marketer of the animals.
The monthly payments we were devising were actually like a forced savings account, so it did not seem as painful to do the payments on this particular loan.
We now own more than $325,000 in alpacas and that wish increase to well over $1,000,000.00 in the next five years. We wish have long since recouped our initial investment and wish be working entirely with the money that we have earned.
My conclusion:
There are galore great reasons to raise alpacas.... but for me, the better one is that I have stopped-up paying Federal and State financial gain
tax from my another business financial gain
as a result of the moneymaking tax benefits that move with investment in alpacas.
Did you you cognize that through the end of 2007, in Sec 179, the IRS allows a BONUS $105,000.00 TAX DEDUCTION for expenses related to raising alpacas? That means that if you are an active rancher, you can take large sums of assessable financial gain
from another businesses and INVEST it on alpacas, barns, shelters, trucks, tractors, or thing
else that is related to your alpaca business.... and NOT PAY TAX ON THAT INCOME!
